Lysozyme and Its Role during Honey Bee Nosematosis
ثبت نشده
چکیده
When lysozyme was present in bee food the beginning of dying out both of healthy and infected insects became later in 15-18 days after the beginning of our experiment. The quantity of healthy bees perished in 30 days following the beginning of our experiment was twice higher in the enzyme absence in bee food. The favorable lysozyme effect was higher with its higher concentration (60 μg/ml), both mortality curves (for healthy and Na-infected bees) being similar. Only 26.2% of infected bees perished following lysozyme treatment comparing to 73.3% of such insects in control variant.

High Fructose Corn Syrup: A Potential Feed for Honey Bee
The honey bee obtains its all nutritional demands from nectar and pollen. In the case of nectar and pollen limitation, beekeepers use a substitute. It has been a long time that sucrose is used as the conventional substitute for nectar and pollen in the bee feeding to provide its nutritional needs during winter and stimulation of springchr('39')s larval nourishment. High fructose corn syrup is ...
متن کاملThe first report of the prevalence of Nosema ceranae in Bulgaria
Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae are the two main microsporidian parasites causing nosematosis in the honey bee Apis mellifera. The aim of the present study is to investigate the presence of Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae in the area of Bulgaria. The 16S (SSU) rDNA gene region was chosen for analysis. A duplex PCR assay was performed on 108 honey bee samples from three different parts of the coun...
متن کاملFeeding of the Bee Families with an Addition of CoSO4
For their normal living, honey bees (Apis mellifera) require proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and minerals. It is well known that Co and vitamin B12 are two nutrients that have been reported in pollen and plants that have had positive results in bees feeding. In this respect, the aim of the study is to determine the influence of feeding of the bee families with CoSO4 as a supplement on...
متن کاملStudy on anti inflammatory effect of subcutaneous honey bee venom injection and dermal application of cream containing honey bee venom in adjuvant-induced arthritic rats
Honey bee sting is used in some societies as a treatment of inflammation in joint diseases such as arthritis. To investigate the effect of honey bee venom in reducing inflammation, we selected 30 male Wister rats which were divided in to 6 groups. Except group 1, all remaining groups received 0.5 ml of complete Freund’s adjuvant to induce arthritis. After 9 days, all animals that received adj...
متن کاملImmune related gene expression in worker honey bee (Apis mellifera carnica) pupae exposed to neonicotinoid thiamethoxam and Varroa mites (Varroa destructor)
Varroa destructor is one of the most common parasites of honey bee colonies and is considered as a possible co-factor for honey bee decline. At the same time, the use of pesticides in intensive agriculture is still the most effective method of pest control. There is limited information about the effects of pesticide exposure on parasitized honey bees. Larval ingestion of certain pesticides coul...
